The Monroe County Business Alliance is a cutting-edge organization that combines traditional chamber services and economic development into one organization to best serve our community, and most importantly, our member/partners.  Our goal at the MCBA is to provide the resources for our existing business partners to grow and to also attract new businesses to our county and region.  We work to create a business climate for greater success in Monroe County.  Our members/partners have access to a network with key visionaries and influencers in our community.  They can join networking groups to refer and exchange business.  Additionally, our partners have access to and information on new organizations coming to Monroe County.  We know businesses have choices when it comes to where they place their dollars for networking and marketing.  We have created the most affordable and powerful organization in our community to do this. Businesses of all sizes in Monroe County need to prepare for upcoming changes to Michigan’s employment laws. These new laws apply to all employees (except federal), including those working for non-profit organizations, schools, governmental units, and even businesses with just one employee.

In September, the Alliance hosted a Lunch & Learn event featuring the Michigan Chamber of Commerce as the keynote speaker, who provided valuable insights on these employment law changes.
