Leadership Monroe

Leadership Monroe is a nationally recognized, nine-month leadership development program designed to empower, educate, and equip individuals to serve and strengthen our community. Rooted in experiential learning, the program encourages self-discovery while building meaningful relationships through engaging monthly sessions.

The program runs October through May, with sessions held the second Thursday of each month during business hours at rotating locations throughout Monroe County. Participants must attend at least 80% of sessions, along with the mandatory 48-hour Opening Retreat in September and the Closing Retreat in May.

Throughout the program, participants gain an in-depth understanding of Monroe County by exploring key topics such as economic development, education, health and human services, nonprofit leadership, and local businesses—both large and small.
